Traveling Peace Takes Off!

Sample of 70 Pieces

At a time when many are searching for hope and connection, Pacem in Terris is launching our 10th annual Traveling Peace Youth Art Exhibition—an initiative that brings young people’s visions of a more peaceful world into the public sphere. By sharing these works beyond a single gallery setting, the exhibition expands their reach and impact, offering inspiration and reflection to hundreds of thousands of people across the region.

The 2026–2027 exhibition will travel to public spaces throughout Delaware and Pennsylvania, with an estimated audience of over 500,000. Installed in places where people naturally gather—healthcare centers, civic buildings, and cultural venues—these artworks bring messages of peace into everyday life, encouraging moments of pause, empathy, and possibility.

The exhibition begins with 70 works selected by a jury of local artists and community leaders from an original showcase of 460 pieces presented in February at the Wilmington Public Library. Representing 30 schools and community centers, the selected works reflect a wide range of perspectives on peace—from personal and family relationships to broader community and global concerns.

To extend this impact, Pacem staff and volunteers also curate high-quality digital reproductions of more than 250 student artworks. These are thoughtfully framed and installed in rotating groupings of 15 to 30 pieces, creating dynamic exhibitions that highlight the depth, diversity, and imagination of youth voices.

The Traveling Peace Youth Art Exhibition will be on view at more than 30 locations, including Nemours Children’s Hospital, The Grand Opera House, Delaware Legislative Hall, as well as state service centers and courthouses. For the first time, the exhibition will also be featured at the Hope Center and Philadelphia International Airport for an extended year-long display—significantly increasing public engagement and visibility.

The launch of this year’s traveling exhibition will take place at the Traveling Peace Youth Art Celebration, a public open house held at the Blue Ball Barn on Thursday, April 30, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. At this event, all of the traveling works will be on display, offering a first look at the collection before it begins its journey. The celebration brings together student artists, families, educators, and community members to recognize the artists’ voices and the collective vision they represent.
